I care about Indigenous lives because my family is Indigenous, and because our communities have experienced dispossession and fragmentation and are vulnerable to ongoing harm. Indigenous Peoples and cultures have a lot of wisdom and creativity to offer and share with the world. And, living in a colonial society, it is all the more important to protect and safeguard Indigenous lives, culture, and knowledge, ensuring individual people have the chance to live full and fulfilling lives and ensuring that the culture and knowledge is passed on to future generations.
I am currently pursuing a PhD in human geography at the University of Toronto. I have a Bachelor's degree and a Master of Arts degree in social anthropology from York University. I have a certificate in editing fundamentals from the University of Waterloo. And I have completed training in project management with Mitacs. My primary skills include: research, writing, editing, publishing, photography, project management, coordination, administration, and event facilitation. And I have some experience with website editing and management.
